Danica Cosic

Danica Cosic is a chic chick driven by wanderlust and social conscience. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, Danica always dreamed of a life filled with travel, creativity, beautiful design, and a way to make a difference. (“And work in the fashion world?” said the dubious. “Good luck, missy!”) So there she was in Manhattan, toiling away with major fashion labels like Ralph Lauren and The Robert Allan Group. These apparel powerhouses taught Danica the business of design. Exciting to be sure, but the wanderlust was packed away for some years in a small box in her East Village apartment, yearning to be free.
In 2009, Danica proclaimed, “enough is enough!” She unleashed the wanderlust and fused her business savvy with her passion for culture and fine craftsmanship and hopped a jet for Marrakech. She launched Danica Cosic Designs in 2010, and celebrated with Morrocan fete.
In Morocco, Danica works with fabulously skilled and talented local master artisans to create a fair trade collection of bags and belts that showcase the incredible craftsmanship of these masters, and the wandering spirit of her design sensibility. This collaboration has been mutually beneficial and yes, exquisitely harmonious, giving these incredible artisans a platform for their skills and an opportunity to build their businesses, while lending exceptional artistry to Danica’s vision.
Danica’s designs are understated, worldly and full of rugged simplicity, with refreshingly cosmopolitan ornamentation that conjure images of chic Talitha Getty in a flowing caftan.
Danica is a Brooklyn native, one of three beauteous sisters and a devoted (new!) auntie. www.danicacosic.com
