When Karen Green cracked open a fortune cookie one bright fateful June day, she pulled out a little slip of paper that read "A NEW WARDROBE WILL BRING GREAT CHANGE AND HAPPINESS TO YOUR LIFE." Because Karen is an open-minded, free-spirited kind of lady, receptive to the mystical, magical workings of the world, she took that message to heart. If you happened to ask her to describe the ethos behind Green Label Designs, she'd tell you that the sentiment in those simple words is the best way to define her line to this very day!

Green Label Designs came into being in June of 2009, when Karen and her sister-in-law, Shannon Green, put their pretty heads together and collaborated on a skirt for Karen to wear to her birthday party in NYC. Some kind of magic must have been in the air when these ladies married their design sensibilities, because good golly, that fab skirt stole Karen's birthday-girl spotlight the second she stepped into the party. Thank the fashion deities above that Karen's not the type to begrudge a spotlight-stealing skirt, cause she wore it again two days later in Charleston, SC, where it caught the eye of one Anna Lassiter, curator of Eden Boheme. Anna knew the instant her eyes met that skirt—she just had to have it for her fabulous King Street boutique, and Green Label Designs became a reality.

Since the birth of the Signature Skirt from Green Label Designs, Shannon and Karen have worked in tandem to design and create a small, impeccably tailored collection composed of essential garments made from lush satins and elegant silks.
